Don Smith — Media/Communications Pastor

For many people, when they think of “church” or even “Jesus”, the words and
pictures they use are rooted in old fashioned and even irrelevant ideas. In
other words, many people associate God and the best news in the Universe
with antiquated, unhelpful and uncreative presentations. This is why Don Smith
joined the Crosspointe team in the fall of 2006.

Don is driven by the fact that God and His way are at the same time ancient
and relevant. He’s passionate about our responsibility to present the beauty
and freshness of God’s life-changing way in expressions that capture
people’s attention and resonate with how people in our culture actually
communicate. From the environment we come together and sing in, to the
short films, to the visual and audio effects that we enjoy week in and
week out, Don is dedicated to communicating relevantly as well as leading
his team to always be taking the beauty and excellence of what we do further.

Don and Jenna have two boys, and are raising them to not only be good young
men - but the kind of people who will effectively present God to their
generation. If Don isn’t with his family or working on some Crosspointe
environment, he’s playing X-Box 360, cheering the Mets and the Jaguars,
listening to one or more songs - simultaneously. If he’s not multi-tasking, he can’t
focus. This picture of him represents the one time he has stood still in 4 weeks.
