Rick Smith — Director of Administration

After 22 years at IBM as an engineer and global alliance manager,
Rick Smith came on staff at Crosspointe as the Director of
Administration. But his role goes well beyond paying the bills
and keeping the lights on (although we thank him for that). Rick
enables ministry. He works to direct resources in such a way that help
lives be transformed by Christ.

Doing and getting things done is how the leadership team has come
to describe Rick. He has been to Kenya numerous times and is integral
in how Crosspointe is doing ministry in Kenya, in Haiti, and locally
throughout the Triangle.

But Rick also understands the importance of not doing. So, when
he is not doing anything at the office, he’s enjoying the Hurricanes,
the Red Sox, the Patriots and even the occasional round of golf. He
can also be found reading, as he tries to read a book a week, as long
as The Office isn’t on.

He and his wife Lisa are the proud parents of two sons and a
daughter, each of whom are actively involved in various ways with
the mission of Crosspointe.

Rick is driven by the simple truth of God’s grace and forgiveness:
The slate’s clean. He, like so many, comes from a background
where Jesus is connected to a lot of religious baggage, and even
more guilt. As he has come to realize that forgiveness is from God
and not some act or hoop one must jump through- his passion is that
others would come to know the slate’s clean for them as well.
